MP Dergham: My dispute with Information branch is not personal

Strong Lebanon bloc MP Assaad Dergham asserted on Monday that his dispute with the Information Branch is not personal but aims at preserving the security apparatuses.

Dergham’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show whereby he said that he has information confirming that inmates are being tortured by the Information Branch.

“Minister of Interior Rayya al-Hassan is the main person who is concerned in this dossier,” he added confirming his confidence in her.

Turning to politics, Dergham stressed that Lebanon can no longer bear any political disputes, adding that President Michel Aoun will make an initiative to reach a solution that satisfies everyone.

He also called on Prime Minister Saad Hariri to hold a Cabinet session.

“This country can only be ruled by consensus,” he stressed.
