Jumblatt: President Aoun will call on Lebanese officials to meet to face economic challenges
Progressive Socialist Party Leader Walid Jumblatt met with President Michel Aoun at the Beiteddine Palace Saturday afternoon.

The meeting was held in the presence of Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil.

Following the meeting, Jumblatt said that President Aoun called on political leaders to meet to discuss measures to face the country’s economic challenges.

“The President will invite the country's officials to meet to assume our responsibilities and prepare for the 2020 budget,” Jumblatt noted.

Jumblatt reiterated that the president considers the new negative ratings a danger to the Lebanese economy, and that Lebanese officials must take action.

Asked about his first meeting with Bassil after the Qabrshmoun incident, the Jumblatt described the meeting as “friendly”.
