Egyptian President al-Sisi meets Jumblatt and accompanying delegation

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received on Thursday Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Samih Choukri and a number of Egyptian officials, in addition to head of the Democratic Gathering bloc MP Taymour Jumblatt, MP Bilal Abdallah and former minister Ghazi al-Aridi.

Talks reportedly featured high over a number of issues, mainly the Palestinian Cause, the situation in Syria, the general developments in Lebanon and the challenges it faces, as well as Egypt’s support to Lebanon.

Following the meeting, Presidential Ambassador Spokesman Bassam Radi asserted that president al-Sisi the deep relations between Egypt and Lebanon at the official and popular levels.

He also conveyed al-Sisi’s keenness on Lebanon’s stability and security.

For his part, Jumblatt stressed Lebanon’s keenness on strengthening the strong historical ties between Lebanon and Egypt

He also expressed appreciation for the Egyptian effort in supporting Lebanon in all fields.

Sources close to Jumblatt’s accompanying delegation told al-Anbaaonline website that the meeting’s atmosphere was “very good,” and reflected the depth of the old relationship between the Progressive Socialist Party and Egypt.
