Al-Ahdab to LBCI: Tripoli is not Hong Kong

Former MP Mesbah al-Ahdab said on Sunday that ceasefire is not a solution in Tripoli, stressing that radical measures must be taken to solve the issue and prevent the use of arms.                     

In an interview with Nharkom Said, al-Ahdab stressed that everyone must commit to the Army’s orders, warning against any confrontation between the LAF and the North’s citizens. He noted that judicial warrants should be used when needed.                           

“The conflict in Tripoli is not with the Alawite”, he added.  

Mesbah al-Ahdab said that the solution is when the army and the security forces implement the decisions of the Prime Minister, confirming that President Sleiman is taking clear stances regarding this case but the decisions must be implemented on the ground.              

“The Lebanese government should not protect the Syrian regime; Tripoli is not Hong Kong and the army can control the situation”, he said.          

The former MP said that Mikati cannot stop supporting the Syrian regime, pointing that the time has come for him to step down. He stressed that the alternative is a ministerial statement confirming clearly that non-state arms are not allowed.
