The Mayor of Hadat George Edward Aoun declared on Tuesday that he will not allow any gathering to be staged in the squares and roads of the region, in order to prevent any tension or confrontation.
On the municipality’s Facebook page, he said that “after stressed the importance of the freedom of opinion and expression and the rightfulness of the popular demands, and in a bid to ensure easy transportation, the mayor declared that any gathering in Hadat squares and roads will be banned.”
He also stressed that Hadat will remain loyal to President Michel Aoun, noting that whoever wants to express their opinion should join the larger protests in Beirut squares.
