Lebanese businessman kidnapped in Batroun

50-year-old Lebanese businessman Bassam Talii Tarabay was kidnapped by 4 gunmen in a black 4x4 while he was parking his car in his home's garage in the Batroun suburb of Basbina at midnight Thursday, taking him to an unknown destination.

According to security sources, the family has informed the security forces about the abductors’ 2 phone calls. The kidnappers asked first for a $ 4,000,000 a ransom, then deducted the number to $2,000,000.

During the second phone call, the abductors allowed the hostage to speak with his borther.

Trabay has moved to a rented house in Basbina – Batroun 3 months ago and did not pay the rent during the last month. It is also said that he owns a tug boat company in Syria's Tartous port.
