Iran slams Canada’s decision to break off diplomatic ties

Iran slammed Canada’s decision to suspend diplomatic ties, accusing the Canadian government of being “under the influence of the Zionist regime.”

Canada suspended diplomatic relations with Iran on Friday, closing its embassy in Tehran and giving all Iranian diplomats in Canada five days to leave the country.

“Canada’s current government is an extremist government influenced by the Zionist regime; it is taking measures to pressure the Iranian people and create problems for nationals of our country”, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted by the ISNA news agency as saying.
