LAF confiscates a significant number of arms in Rweiss

Army Command reported on Saturday that LAF’s intelligence knew that some persons were collecting weapons in Rweiss are situated in Beirut’s southern suburb.     

The LAF managed to arrest the suspects while they were riding a Nissan Patrol SUV in Rweiss area. The car was carrying a significant number of weapons, explosives and ammunition that were confiscated by the LAF.       

The seizures were handed over to the competent authorities, as the house raids continue to arrest the car’s owner and all the other involved people.      

Earlier, LAF's Directorate of Orientation issued a statement announcing that upon instructions of the LAF commander, and following hostile abductions claimed by certain members of Al Mokdad family in light of recent incidents that took place on the airport road, an LAF unit carried out multiple raids Friday night in Rweiss and nearby neighborhoods in Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahieh), and arrested a number of wanted persons.          

The area’s residents along with the Al Mokdad family cooperated with the army who seized large quantities of weapons, ammunition and military material. The LAF command informed the concerned political authorities of all the measures it is planning to take to follow up on this issue.
