Speaker Berri: Owners of 5 banks transferred personal money abroad

MP Ali Bazzi quoted on Wednesday Speaker Nabih Berri as saying that the country is in front of a real opportunity to be saved.

Berri’s comments were made during his weekly meeting with MPs in Ain el-Tineh whereby he said that owners of 5 banks transferred their own money abroad.

“These funds amount to around 2 billion and 300 million US dollars,” Berri was quoted as saying.

On another note, Bazzi quoted Berri as saying that the session to discuss the ministerial statement will probably be held as of next Tuesday in case the statement was transferred to Parliament on Friday maximum.
