Sfeir after meeting Diab: Any Eurobonds decision can only be taken by Lebanese government

Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) Salim Sfeir said on Wednesday that if the Lebanese government is heading towards rescheduling the debt, it should happen in an orderly way.

Sfeir’s comments were made after meeting with Prime Minister Hassan Diab at the Grand Serail whereby he said that the main goal of the ABL is the proper functioning of public facilities and the deposits.

He also noted that any decision regarding the Eurobonds is a decision that only the Lebanese government can take as it deems appropriate.
