Qahwaji: Army entrusted with Lebanon's sovereignty and independence

Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji continued his meetings in the British Capital on Tuesday as he met with a number of senior military officials to discuss the cooperation and bilateral relation between the Lebanese and British armies.      

On the margin of his visit to London, General Jean Qahwaji attended an honorary celebration held for him by the Lebanese Diaspora in the U.K., in the presence of a number of dignitaries. The celebration included speeches praising "the Lebanese Army's role and its leadership efforts to save Lebanon at this critical stage."              

In turn, Qahwaji delivered a speech whereby he thanked the Lebanese Diaspora in Britain who reflected the Lebanese national values by communicating with their home country.          

He added that the Lebanese Army has been working hard to contain security incidents on the borders and in the Lebanese interior.            

He said that the Army is also preserving democracy and freedom in Lebanon and is entrusted with the country's sovereignty and independence.                  

Qahwaji added that Lebanon would overcome this critical phase with the least possible damages due to its citizens' awareness and their support to the military institution.
