Arrestee in the case of weapons cache found in al-Bireh: not a religious figure
The Lebanese Army Command announced that the arrestee in the case of the weapons cache found in the town of al-Bireh in Rachaya is not a religious figure, adding that investigations showed that the arrested citizen has set up training sites for gunmen and supplied them with weapons and military ammunition later seized by the army.

In a statement, the LAF added that trainings at the above-mentioned site had begun several days before the raid carried out by the LAF intelligence in collaboration with an LAF unit seized and confiscated the arms.

10 persons reportedly managed to flee the training location before the army troops arrived.

Investigations in the case are ongoing under the supervision of the Judiciary to arrest the rest of the perpetrators.

The weapons cache was found on Tuesday in al-Bireh, Rachaya. The items seized included a bomb, machine guns, mobile phones, helmets and sleeping bags.
