Suspects arrested in Aalmat incident released

Early morning hours of Saturday saw the release of 10 detainees arrested in relation to attack on a police patrol in Aalmat-Byblos, after being held for investigation by police.

Armed men assaulted an ISF patrol as it attempted to prevent individuals from illegally cutting down trees for firewood in the town of Aalmat.

Within this framework, head of Aalmat Municipality mentioned to LBCI that he and Aalmat residents are ready to hand over those involved in the incident to security forces.

For their part, the security forces stressed that they will not tolerate those who assaulted their elements and will continue pursuing them in Aalmat and out of it.
