Iran urges Syria, Turkey to self-restraint after recent border clashes

Tehran urged both Damascus and Ankara to show self-restraint on Wednesday after recent border clashes between the two neighboring countries.

Turkey hit back after what it called "the last straw" when the mortar bomb hit the Turkish border town of Akcakale on Wednesday, killing a mother, her three children and a female relative.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on both sides (Turkey and Syria) to exercise self-restraint, launch a close study over the case and pay heed to the goals of the enemies”, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian told Fars News Agency.
