Activists gather in Riad Solh Square with their cooking pans

Dozens of human rights activists heeded the call of the Non-Violent Non-Sectarian Young Lebanese Citizens association (CHAML) and gathered at downtown Beirut’s Riad Solh Square on Sunday , partaking in a sit-in held under the slogan “meet us with your cooking pan”. The sit-in aimed at making noise to annoy officials and urge them to work on the civil personal status law.

Protestors called on officials to activate the law that has been stacked in the Parliament’s drawers for over a year and a half. The sit-in was small but a made a great deal of noise.
