Calls arise to replace Bar Elias dumpsite with healthy landfill

After inhaling poisonous fumes emanating from the Bar Elias dumpsite for nearly 15 years, municipality members and residents of nearby towns raised their voice on Sunday, calling on the Lebanese state and the Ministry of Environment to close it and replace it with a healthy landfill to sort waste. The poisonous fumes of this dumpsite reach several towns including Kfar Zabad, Terbol and al-Faour.

Protestors threatened to take escalatory steps if their demand is not met.
