Plumbly voices support for President Sleiman’s efforts

UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly stressed on Monday that the Security Council’s members condemn any attempt to destabilize Lebanon by implementing political assassinations, noting that those involved in the Ashrafieh crime must be referred to the Judiciary.

After attending a meeting between President Sleiman and the ambassadors of the UN Security Council’s five permanent members, Plumbly said that the ambassadors call on all Lebanese parties to maintain stability and support the efforts deployed by President Sleiman to hold discussions with political officials.

Plumbly reiterated the call on the Lebanese people to preserve national unity.
