Houry to LBCI: Government is flaunting European and American support

MP Ammar Houry said on Wednesday that "no one should forget that the main event was the assassination of Major General Wissam Hassan since the other party is trying to divert attention.”

Houry said that President Michel Sleiman is permanently trying to find solutions but the Future bloc's stance will remain unchanged: it wants to topple the current government.

Houry told Nharkom Said that contacts with Sleiman have never been interrupted, stressing that the return to the dialogue table is improbable following the assassination of Hassan.

“The government is now flaunting European and American support, which is an invalid claim," he said, calling for the formation of a neutral rescue government away from March 14 and March 8.

Houry said that contacts with National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt are underway, voicing his rejection for political void.
