Prisoners in Zahle penitentiary announce their food strike

Judge Hatem Madi arrested Zahle prison commander and police commander, along with a lieutenant, an officer and 3 soldiers following the clashes which took place in Zahle prison on Saturday between the clans of Zeayter and Mazloum, killing Abbas Fayad Zeayter.

In this regard, almost 600 prisoners in Zahleh’s penitentiary raised on Sunday a memorandum to the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Jean Fahed informing him that they are performing a food strike until the release of the officer and the other soldiers

Exclusive sources told LBCI that investigations into the fight had been underway all night long.
