Yaacoub to LBCI: the Syrian situation is similar to July 2006 war

Former MP Hassan Yaacoub said on Saturday that what is taking place in Syria is similar to what happened in Lebanon in July 2006.

In a talk to LBCI during Nharkom Said Yaacoub said that France is keen on Lebanon's stability and we must benefit of this issue to maintain the country's steadiness.

Regarding the presence of Hezbollah members fighting alongside with the Syrian regime Yaacoub said Syria is not in need for more fighters.

"Those concerned in maintaining Lebanon's sovereignty must not interfere in exterior affairs," he added.

Yaacoub stressed that toppling the government must be based on constitutional laws.

He concluded that national dialogue is the only way to reach solutions.
