Shukr responds to Geagea

The Regional Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party in Lebanon Fayez Shukr said on Thursday that the standard for patriotism is loyalty to the nation not to another country, noting that compromising such loyalty for "cheap" purposes is considered a national treason.

During a speech he delivered on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the corrective movement, Shukr stressed that the equation of the people, the army and the resistance will remain the only formula that protects the nation, safeguards independence and liberates the land.

On the other hand, Shukr responded to the Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea concerning the espionage accusations, saying: "If really you are not a spy and if really you made all the sacrifices for Israel at the expense of the Lebanese people and the national cause, then you must be an Israeli and a Zionist par excellence."
