Sami Gemayel: Hezbollah should deal positively with other parties

Kataeb Party's Central Committee Coordinator MP Sami Gemayel declared on Saturday that it is no longer acceptable to take part in a dialogue where Hezbollah sees us as the weak party, adding that when Hezbollah decides to deal positively with other parties in the country, these parties will reply by the same positivity. He noted that Hezbollah must begin by admitting that the decision of war and peace should be taken by the State, not by one party.            

In an interview with "The Free Lebanon" radio station, Gemayel warned that Sheikh Ahmad Assir's declaration concerning the formation of military factions is a natural result of the presence of the Resistance's arms, pointing that "Hezbollah would be promoting the presence of extremist Sunni groups over the moderate groups".                

"If Hezbollah wanted to resist and defend Gaza Strip, let it go to Gaza," Gemayel said, adding that "Hezbollah is publicly committed to the resolution 1701, therefore the party does not have the right to hold any weapon under this resolution, which confirms that there is no such thing as Resistance today."
