Syria opposition to make Cairo its headquarters

       
Turkey is getting ready to ask NATO to deploy Patriot missiles along its border with Syria while European ministers in Brussels are discussing a joint strategy to support the new Syrian opposition coalition.      

In a similar context, NATO said that it will consider any request for missiles from Turkey as urgent with NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen saying the alliance would consider a request from Turkey to deploy Patriot anti-missile batteries along the border with Syria "as a matter of urgency".     

On another note, Ahmad Mouaz al-Khatib, head of the Syrian National Coalition said that the coalition has agreed that Egypt will be its headquarters, according to the Egyprian Acharq al-Awsat news agency.     

This as Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti said during a press conference in Qatar that his country recognizes the Syrian National Coalition as “the legitimate representative of the Syrian people.”     

In turn, a group of Islamic battalions and brigades in Aleppo, northern Syria, including Al-Nusra Front and Tawhid Brigades declared their rejection of the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition, stressing that they agreed on establishing an Islamic State, according to a video posted on the Internet on Monday.
