REPORT: Jordanians protest lifting fuel subsidy

The bad weather conditions did not prevent the Jordanians from participating in limited demonstrations in various regions of the kingdom, to protest the fuel price hike, which rates ranged between 10 and 53%.

The capital Amman witnessed the largest protest, where around 300 people including Islamists, leftists and youth organization members gathered outside the Grand Husseini Mosque, denouncing the raise in prices, calling for political and economic reforms.

In this context, the protesters stressed that this move represents reaching "the peak of anger".

However, intensive security measures were imposed during the protests, especially by the riot squad.
