Doctor Mona Kanj kidnapped, $600,000 ransom demand

Unknown assailants kidnapped Doctor Mona Kanj outside her Meshref home in Chouf Wednesday morning.

The kidnappers later contacted her family demanding a $600,000 ransom.

Sources mentioned to LBCI that suspicions revolve around the Syrian housekeeper who is married to a Lebanese woman from Brital.

In the details, on Wednesday at around 8 AM, as Mona's husband was on his way back home driving his BMW X5, 3 unknown gunmen attacked and tied him up.

The gunmen made their way to Kanj's villa and kidnapped Dr. Mona and her housekeeper.

The kidnappers then left the housekeeper and Mona's husband in his X5 in the Bshamoun area, and then fled to an unknown destination.

No further details were provided.
