Coordination Committee calls for sit-in on Monday

The Syndicate Coordination Committee declared on Friday that a central sit-in will be held on the road of the Presidential Palace near Abou Khalil Supermarket on Monday 10th of December at 9:30 am without a strike. The sit-in will be coinciding with the cabinet session in order to guarantee the approval and referral of the pay scale to the parliament.            

The Committee issued a statement whereby it announced that in case the cabinet delayed the implementation of the decision to refer the pay scale during Monday’s session, it will call on private and public sectors’ teachers, employees, retirees and contractors to hold a general strike on Wednesday 12th of December at all public administrations, ministries, public and private high schools, and official institutes of vocational and technical education.           

The committee said that it will hold a small protest under the title “To express anger and condemnation”, on Wednesday 12th of December at 11:00 am from Barbir Square to the Grand Serail, calling on teachers, employees, retirees and contractors to heavily participate in Monday’s sit-in and Wednesday’s protest.
