Families of Talkalakh victims and missing people postpone movement

The committee of the families of those who were killed in the Talkalakh incident and those missing declared on Monday the postponement of their movement scheduled for Wednesday.

The committee issued a statement whereby it announced that this decision was reached due to the critical security situation, since three of the bodies of those killed in the Talkalakh ambush were delivered and in order to facilitate the efforts deployed to receive the remaining bodies in one batch and to uncover the fate of those missing.

On the 30th of November 2012, reports emerged saying that a number of Lebanese nationals died in a Syrian ambush in the bordering town of Talkalakh.

At least 14 Lebanese and Palestinian gunmen from north Lebanon were reportedly killed, with three wounded and detained in the ambush. Syrian state television aired graphic video of the dead men, riddled with gunshot wounds and lying in the grass.

Families of the dead and missing have been protesting in Tripoli, demanding that the Lebanese government return the bodies and determine the whereabouts of those missing.
