Palestinian cell planning abduction of Israeli soldier arrested

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) revealed on Monday the arrest of a Palestinian militant cell that tried to kidnap soldiers, in order to gain the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) cell, operating out of the village of Hizme, north of Jerusalem, on three separate occasions lay in wait for Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops standing at bus stops, according to details of a just- rescinded court gag-order.
