REPORT: Will Abbas hand over the West Bank key to Israel?

Reports recently emerged in the political circles and in the Palestinian streets about the possibility of the dissolution or the collapse of the Palestinian authority, especially amid the current economic crisis which is preventing the authority from paying the salaries of its employees and with Israel continuing its settlement projects and seizing the money of the Palestinian taxes.

In this context, the ministries and public institutions closed their doors for two days, to protest the delay in paying the salaries, while the positions of the Palestinian citizens were divided regarding this issue.

However, the Palestinian authority President Mahmoud Abbas has recently threatened to dissolve the authority, and to hand over the West Bank to Israel, in case the political process does not see progress and in case there was no breakthrough in the financial situation.
