Mikati heads ministerial committee meeting to discuss non-smoking law

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati followed up on Tuesday Lebanon's industrial affairs with a delegation from the Lebanese Industrialists Association's board of directors headed by Neemat Frem.

In this context, Frem stressed that a plan was placed in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, the Industrialists Association and the cabinet in order to address the problems that took place in 2012 regarding the Lebanese exports which recorded a steep decline despite the increase in domestic consumption.

Accordingly, Frem called on the Lebanese consumer to buy Lebanese products first, "since every pound spent on a Lebanese product stimulates and supports the Lebanese economy."

On the other hand, Mikati headed a meeting for the ministerial committee in charge of discussing the non-smoking law, including Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, Interior and Municipalities Minister Marwan Charbel, Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud, Economy and Trade Minister Nicolas Nahas and the General Director of the Ministry of Economy Fouad Fleifel.

Following the meeting, Minister Nicolas Nahhas stressed that the committee studied the implementation of the non-smoking law across the Lebanese regions.
