In a statement, the teachers announced that they will carry on with their open strike, calling on the president, “the guardian of the constitution and state institutions”, to be the protector of the Lebanese University. They also urged him to preserve and immunize the teaching staff “for being an integral part of the university.”

They called on the cabinet to fulfill its responsibility by ratifying this file the next session.

A delegation from the Lebanese University Contract teachers visited the Minister of Education Hassan Diab who asserted the "righteousness of the teachers demands" adding, "it is about time a solution is found".
