Lawsuit filed against 8 Islamist detainees and officers involved in negligence cases

The meeting held on Friday between Gendarmerie Commander Joseph Doueihy and Sheikh Nabil Rahim concerning the case of handing over the suspects in the murder of the prisoner al-Qandaqli, ended. The suspects were identified as Salim Saleh, known as ‘Abou Trab’ and Bilal Ibrahim, known as ‘Abou Oubeida’.

Sheikh Rahim visited Roumieh's prison’s bloc B to meet with Islamist detainees.

Subsequently, sources told LBCI that Sheikh Nabil Rahim received the consent of Islamist detainees regarding the surrender of suspects involved in the killing of al-Qandaqli.

Meanwhile, Judge Saqr Saqr filed a lawsuit against 8 Islamist detainees on charges of intentional homicide, and officers on charges of negligence.

On Thursday afternoon, Army commando units and security forces sent reinforcements to Roumieh prison.

This as the security forces withdrew from bloc B, closing the offices and taking all the folders and computers, in preparation for a security raid.

It is worth noting that Roumieh prison's Bloc B contains all sorts of forbidden materials, and is used to contact Fatah al-Islam groups in both Lebanon and Syria.
