REPORT: American national spotted among protesters supporting LAF in Tyre

Hundreds of residents, including youths and students, took to Tyre streets on Sunday to express solidarity with the Lebanese Army, denouncing the attack which targeted LAF troops in Arsal.

The protesters cut off the road, waving with the Lebanese flags and banners condemning the killing of Major Pierre Bachaalany and Adjutant Ibrahim Zahraman, calling for the punishment of the criminals. The movement caused a heavy traffic jam in the area, leading the army to reopen the road after the activists distributed Lebanese and army flags to the commuters.

A similar movement was staged at the entrance of the city, where flags and slogans supporting the military institutions were raised. It is worth noting that an American national identified as Denis Muller joined the protesters and raised the Lebanese flag.

In Nabatiyeh, the gathering of national parties organized a protest to express solidarity with the Lebanese Army outside the Serail, denouncing the attack against LAF troops in Arsal.

The protesters raised Lebanese and Syrian flags as well as posters of Syrian President Bashar Assad, chanting slogans in favor of the Army.

Similarily in Hasbaya, the Lebanese Democratic Party called for a gathering in solidarity with the LAF, in the participation of MPs Ali Fayyad and Qassem Hashem who delivered speeches, whereby they stressed that what the army has been exposed to is a crime against the nation, considering any attack against the army as an attack against national sovereignty and dignity.
