Charbel, Abou Faour to scan number of Syrian refugees

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stressed the importance of conducting a survey to count the number of displaced Syrians and Palestinians fleeing into Lebanon. During his meeting with Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour on Thursday, he said that the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Social Affairs are cooperating to conduct this survey.

In turn, Abou Faour considered that the worsening situation in Syria predicts a higher influx of refugees into Lebanon, “which requires that we be ready on both the technical and security levels to help them without neglecting the needs of Lebanese citizens.”
