Speaker Berri meets PSP delegation

             
Speaker Nabih Berri stressed on Wednesday that the Orthodox Gathering proposal should be adopted or that Article 22 of the Constitution be amended.            

In the periodical meeting with his bloc, the Speaker commented on the latest incidents the country is witnessing, stating that the drop in security has become embarrassing adding that the Supreme Defense Council should adopt the resolutions taken in today's session.            

On another note, Berri met with a delegation from the Socialist Progressive Party presided by Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour.         

Following the meeting, Abou Faour said that the Socialist Party does not oppose the electoral laws proposed by the Cabinet, but refuses the proportional system.         

"We should work on issuing a proposal that guarantees fair representation for all parties i,e. March 8 and the Future Movement."           

In his concluding remarks, Abou Faour noted that Berri will rule out any law that violates the National Pact in Parliament.
