Bassil: We have two weeks to approve the wage series

Energy and Water Minister Gebran Bassil said on Wednesday that the issue of ranks and salaries series has been “sinking” for months into mismanagement, lack of decision and holding on to the same economic system previously adopted, stressing that the series and its figures are not the main problem, whereas the problem lies in the measures taken by the government to fund the series.

Following his meeting with a delegation from the Union Coordination Committee, Bassil noted that some parties are insisting on harming the middle class, by holding on to the policy of waste and corruption, pointing out that the cabinet failed in finding procedures to fund the series.

In this context, Bassil stated that the cabinet has two weeks to approve the series; otherwise “it will be considered as a huge failure and the ministers will bear its responsibility.”
