Bahrain sentences 17 activists to 15 years in prison

A Bahraini court sentenced on Sunday 17 activists from the opposition to 15 years in prison on charges of “attempting to murder four policemen in a bomb attack that took place in April 2012,” a judicial source reported to AFP.            

The defendants were found guilty of detonating a roadside bomb in the village of Aker, injuring four members of a passing police patrol, the source said.
