REPORT: US – Saudi diplomatic activity kicks off in Lebanon following cabinet resignation

Directly following the cabinet’s resignation, a diplomatic activity kicked off in Lebanon targeting top Lebanese political leaderships.

In this context, the US embassy in Lebanon tasked its officials and employees with visiting political councils to confirm two important matters: first, the need to hasten the process of forming a new cabinet to prevent the deterioration of the situation and to protect the constitution and political life; second, the need to hold the parliamentary elections on time “at any cost and no matter what electoral law was adopted.”

This report will expose the position of the foreign officials in Lebanon, in regards to the cabinet formation process and the parliamentary elections.
