Abbas says pact with Jordan not related to Obama’s visit

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed that the agreement signed with the Jordanian King to defend Jerusalem and its holy sites, is not related to the visit made by the US President Barack Obama.

In this context, Abbas told journalists that Palestine and Jordan are coordinating their positions regarding the protection of the holy sites.

Commenting on the call for a mini Arab summit for Palestinian reconciliation, Abbas said that the reconciliation does not require new measures, stressing that he will attend the Arab summit only when he receives an invitation as the sole representative of the Palestinian people.
