Arsal residents cut off road, LAF open fire to disperse them

The residents of the border town of Arsal cut off the road at the entrance of the town, to protest against the continuous incidents with the Jaafar clan.

The protesters tried to approach a Lebanese army checkpoint, leading the soldiers to open fire in the air in order to disperse them.

A wave of tit-for-tat kidnapping began on Sunday March 24, when Hussein Kamel al-Jaafar was kidnapped by unidentified assailants and reportedly taken into Syria.

In retaliation, the al-Jaafar clan of Baalbeck kidnapped 5 from Arsal.
