REPORT: Bassil launches Beirut River Solar Snake project

Caretaker Energy and Water Minister Gebran Bassil expressed hope that the Lebanese solar energy production will reach 12% of the general electricity production in Lebanon, by 2020.

During the launching of the Beirut River Solar Snake (BRSS) initiative plan aimed at producing solar energy on Thursday, Bassil stressed that this project is the first of its kind in Lebanon, pointing out that this plant is the property of Electricité Du Liban (EDL), which aims to produce renewable energy as part of its agenda and future policies.
