Baydoun to LBCI: We can no longer distinguish Assad’s Brigades from Hezbollah

Former Minister Abdel Hamid Baydoun said on Wednesday that the Lebanese people are no longer able to distinguish between ‘Assad’s brigades’ and ‘Hezbollah’, noting that this situation creates a volatile problem facing the people, especially the Shiite community.

Baydoun told LBCI’s Nharkom Said that, when the Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam starts “complying with other parties’ demands in forming his cabinet, then he will become the weakest link in the government.”

“We want a civil, 'non-militia' cabinet,” he said, noting that the ‘Aounists’ acted with a 'militia mentality' in the previous cabinet.

However, Baydoun stressed that Hezbollah and its allies must commit to the provisions of the Lebanese Constitution, pointing out that the cabinet should be based on national and political balance.
