Saleh to LBCI: I was the target of a sniper’s gunshot

The media official of the Arab Democratic Party, Abdul Latif Saleh told LBCI that he was the target of sniper fire on Wednesday as he was sitting at a café in Talaat al-Oumari region, Tripoli.

Tripoli has been the scene of violent sectarian infighting between the pro-Syrian Alawite community and the more hardline Sunni Salafist sects who support the Syrian uprising in neighboring Syria.

Just 6 days ago, Saleh held Lebanese President Michel Sleiman responsible for the rise of violence in the city, bemoaning what he called the negligence of the Alawite community by the Lebanese authorities.

No further details were provided.
