France launches probe into alleged Libyan funding of Sarkozy’s campaign

Agence France Press (AFP) quoted on Friday official sources as saying that French prosecutors launched on Friday investigations in the case related to allegations stating that Libya contributed in funding the electoral campaign of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007.

According to the sources, the investigations are looking into charges of “active and passive corruption”, “influence peddling” as well as other accusations.
