Fatfat to LBCI: General Authority session must be held to vote on new law

Future bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat stressed on Tuesday that his bloc supports the technical extension of the Parliament’s mandate and voting on a new electoral law during the General Authority session, categorically rejecting holding the parliamentary elections according to the 1960 electoral law.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Fatfat noted that amid the existence of Hezbollah’s arms, it is very important that all political factions be well represented in parliament, pointing out that the parties must be aware that the parliament should be “balanced”.

In this context, Fatfat said that “Lebanon is the weak link in this volatile East,” calling on everyone to be realistic in interpreting the current situation in order to keep the country away from any potential hazards.
