EU's Barroso says no plan for European ratings agency

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said on Tuesday there was no plan to establish a European ratings agency.

"There is no intention to create any kind of public ratings agency," he told a business luncheon in Sydney.

Barroso also said that the European Union had not given up on the stalled Doha round of global trade negotiations.
