Head of Beirut’s Order of Physicians calls for a total lockdown
Head of Beirut’s Order of Physicians Sharaf Abou Sharaf called on Friday for a total lockdown for two weeks or one month after the surge in Coronavirus cases in the country.

Abou Sharaf also noted that the capacity of hospitals’ beds reached its maximum, mainly in the intensive care units.

He stressed that a total lockdown would allow the medical and hospital sector to take care of the current infections.

Abou Sharaf said the surge in Coronavirus cases in the country was due to “non-compliance of Lebanese citizens and administrations in public places to the preventive measures,” in addition to the state’s failure in taking necessary measures against violators.”

He concluded by calling on the security forces and municipalities for implementing a “serious, strict a firm lockdown.”
