Eid Azar: Despite apparent effectiveness of AstraZeneca on Delta variant, Lebanese reluctant

Head of Lebanese National Vaccine Executive Committee Eid Azar announced on Tuesday that they had received, through the COVAX platform, a large number of AstraZeneca vaccines, stating that they still had 360.000 doses that must be distributed before the end of the year.

Azar added that despite the apparent effectiveness of AstraZeneca on the delta variant, and despite the lack of any new information about blood clots, the Lebanese were not enthusiastic to take the vaccine.

He addressed them by saying: “If you are between the ages of 18-45, go to a walk-in center to take the vaccine, and we will give you the option to take another dose of Pfizer.”
