In February 2018, Minister of State for Combating Corruption Nicolas Tueni sent a letter to Audit Bureau Prosecutor Judge Fawzi Khamis, calling him to reconsider the Bureau's approval of the deal to rehabilitate the Salim Salam Bridge, known as the Cola Bridge.

The deal was back then concluded between the Municipality of Beirut and contractor Antoine Makhlouf.

Tueini’s letter was sent after complaints about flaws in the files and exaggerated prices.
