Hamadeh slams Mansour's position at Arab League
MP Marwan Hamadeh lashed out at the position of Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour who rejected Arab League's initiative on Syria.

Speaking to Voice of Lebanon Hamadeh argued that Lebanon can't distance itself from the unfolding events in Syria especially when blood is shed in the neighboring country.

He reminded that Lebanon's borders have been repeatedly encroached by the forces loyal to the Syrian regime which slew a number of Lebanese citizens in the past few weeks.

Hamadeh stressed that Manour has no right to demand the lifting of sanctions on the Syrian regime and to restore Damascus seat in the Arab League.

"Who empowered Mansour to adopt these positions that contradicts the stances of the president of the republic, speaker of the parliament and prime minister?".

Hamadeh specified that the only way relations between former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and MP Walid Jumblatt can return to normal is when the latter withdraws his ministers from the government of PM Najib Mikati.

He suggested that Jumblatt may be reluctant to pullout from the cabinet to preserve civil peace and stability in the country, in clear reference to the ties between Jumblatt and Hezbollah.

He believes that there is lot of common points between Hariri and Jumblatt and most notably on the issue of the Syrian crisis. Responding to a question, Hamadeh said that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's general prosecutor Danielle Bellemare may meet some officials as well as families of victims during his visit to Lebanon.
